Manchester United 4 Hull City 3, Old Trafford, English Premier League, November 1, 2008. Sir Alex Ferguson was charged with improper conduct in relation to his behaviour towards referee Mike Dean following the 4-3 win over Hull City. Cristiano Ronaldo put Manchester United into the lead when he beat Hull City goalkeeper Boaz Myhill in the third minute of the clash. Daniel Cousin managed to equalise for for the visitors with a header after 23 minutes, but The Reds regained their advantage when Michael Carrick found the net in the 29th minute of the contest. The East Yorkshire club staged a late comeback in the game, however, when Bernard Mendy scored in the 69th minute before Geovanni converted from the penalty spot on 82 minutes after the former had been fouled by Rio Ferdinand inside the eighteen-yard area.
