Angelo Henriquez Profile
Angelo Jose Henriquez Iturra, Santiago, Chile, April 13, 1994. Angelo Henriquez initiated his soccer career at his local side Universidad de Chile where he amassed seventeen appearances in the Primera Division del Futbol Profesional Chileno. After signing up with Manchester United at the front end of the 2012-13 season, he was then shipped out on loan to fellow Premier League club Wigan Athletic for whom he made four Premiership outings.
Angelo Henriquez proceeded to score his first senior goal for Manchester United in a 1-1 debut draw against Swedish Premier League team AIK Stockholm at the Friends Arena Stadium in Stockholm on the 6th of August 2013. The Gnaw took the lead just four minutes into the second half thanks to a long distance rocket from the boot of Sweden international winger Robin Quaison, only for Henriquez to equalise for the visitors in the 68th minute of the tie when he converted a cross from Wilfried Zaha. And while recently appointed manager David Moyes was frustrated by the draw against the Swedes, the Scot was pleased with the effort from the South American. In order to acquire some valuable first team football exposure, however, the striker was loaned out to Wigan Athletic, Real Zaragoza, and Dinamo Zagreb respectively. Then, at the beginning of the 2015-16 season, he signed a permanent deal with Dinamo Zagreb where he notched up 65 Croatian First Football League appearances for The Blues before he joined Mexican outfit Club Atlas for an estimated transfer fee of €1.5 million in December 2017. Internationally, Henriquez was given his senior debut for Chile when he entered the field as a second half replacement for Barcelona frontman Alexis Sanchez in a 3-1 friendly fixture defeat against Serbia at AFG Arena Stadium in the small city of St. Gallen in Switzerland on the 14th of November 2012.
