Manchester United 1 Soton 1
Manchester United 1 Southampton 1, Old Trafford, English Premier League, October 19, 2013. Manchester United suffered another setback as they failed to beat Southampton at home. And, as a consequence, United now found themselves in sixth place in the table with a mere twelve points collected from eight games played, ten points adrift of leaders Chelsea.
David Moyes was not particularly pleased with the result against surprise team Southampton. Wayne Rooney gave the home side the lead in the first half, but a late goal from Dejan Lovren helped The Saints to a draw. David Moyes: “We had done enough to get ourselves more than one goal, but we never really had enough control at times. I thought that we had really good pockets of play at some points of the game, but not enough control.” Manchester United Team: David de Gea, Rafael da Silva, Phil Jones, Jonny Evans, Patrice Evra, Michael Carrick, Marouane Fellaini, Luis Nani, Wayne Rooney, Adnan Januzaj, Robin van Persie.
