Chivas 3 Manchester United 2
Playing the first half for his former club, Javier Hernandez opened the scoring account after just eight minutes when he put Chivas ahead with a magnificent left footed strike. It took Manchester United only two minutes to equalise, though, as former Fulham defender Chris Smalling headed the visiting team level after meeting a dangerous corner kick from Northern Ireland international Darron Gibson. But, to the delight of the Mexican crowd, Chivas regained their lead just five minutes before the break thanks to a goal by Adolfo Bautista. Despite exciting new signing Javier Hernandez swapping teams at the interval, the Barclays Premier League club failed to make their mark on the match. Chivas carried the greater threat throughout most of the encounter, and the home side increased their lead after 60 minutes of play as Hector Reynoso headed home a corner from Michel Vasquez. The last scoring of the friendly match came in the 80th minute of the tie when Luis Nani pulled a goal back for Manchester United, making the final scoreline read 3-2 in the Mexican team´s favour.
