In or­der to get more fir­st te­am foot­ball ex­per­i­ence, Co­lin McK­ee spent a short loan pe­riod at near­by Bury where he clocked up two Lea­gue Di­vi­sion Three ap­pear­ances for The Shakers dur­ing the 1992-93 sea­son. Wi­th com­pet­i­tion for places be­ing very high at Man­chester Uni­ted, the play­er nev­er ma­naged to gain a reg­u­lar berth wi­th The Red Dev­ils, tho­ugh, and he made his fir­st and on­ly Pre­miership ap­pear­ance for the si­de in a 0-0 draw to Cov­entry City at Old Traf­ford on the 8th of May 1994. Re­turn­ing to Scot­land, he joi­ned Scot­tish Pre­mier Di­vi­sion te­am Kil­mar­nock at the front end of the 1994-95 sea­son and he would stay three years at Rugby Park be­fore he mo­ved on to Glas­gow club Par­tick Thistle at the back end of the 1997-98 cam­paign. McK­ee la­ter had spells wi­th Falkirk, Queen of the So­uth, Ross Coun­ty, Stirl­ing Al­bion, Víkin­gur, Queen’s Park, and fi­nally West Lothi­an si­de Fauld­house Uni­ted where the Glaswe­gi­an ended his act­ive foot­ball ca­reer in 2001.
