Manchester United moved ahead three minutes past the half-hour mark when a clearance ended up at the feet of Luke Shaw whose shot bounced into the ground and over Derby County goalkeeper Kelle Roos and into the net. Shanghai Greenland Shenhua loanee Odion Ighalo then added a second with four minutes left of the first half before the thirty-year-old striker completed his brace in the seventieth minute to give the visitors a three-nil win over The Rams.
