Brazili­an mid­field man Dio­go Rincon ma­naged to re­duce the de­fi­cit for Dy­namo Kiev when he con­ver­ted a cor­ner three min­utes pa­st the ha­lf-hour ma­rk, on­ly for Cris­ti­ano Ron­aldo to score a third goal for Man­chester Uni­ted wi­th just four min­utes re­maining of the fir­st ha­lf. And wi­th twenty-three min­utes gone of the sec­ond pe­riod, Ron­aldo com­pleted his brace from the spot af­ter Gor­an Gav­rancic had handled a cross by Car­los Tev­ez in his own pen­alty area. Is­mael Bangoura fou­nd the back of the net for Dy­namo Kiev twelve min­utes from time, but it was too late for The White-Blues to mount a ser­i­ous case for an equal­iser.
