Wi­th Capello´s Eng­land te­am re­duced to ten men, The Brave Fal­cons were able to ap­ply at lot more pres­sure and the frantic ho­me play­ers fi­nally ma­naged to level the score when an ac­cur­ate cross ball from 20-year-old Man­chester City de­fender Stefan Savic was met by strong run­ning Rayo Val­le­cano centre for­ward An­drija De­li­basic who head­ed the ball pa­st the Eng­land net­mind­er and in­to the goal to make it 2-2 in the last min­ute of nor­mal play­ing time.
