The lavishly gifted player was subsequently sold to Dutch Eredivisie giants Feyenoord Rotterdam where he spent four years before he was brought to the helter skelter of Scottish football by Celtic manager Wim Jansen for a fee of £650,000 in the summer of 1997.

Despite his short stay at Manchester United, there is no doubt whatsoever that his name went down in the history books of the club.
