There were plenty of pos­it­ive words from Sir Al­ex Fer­guson fol­low­ing the win, wi­th the man­ager telling the press that had noth­ing but praise for his play­ers, and the way they played the ga­me. Whi­le at Old Traf­ford, he won the Pre­mier Lea­gue in 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2011, the Lea­gue Cup in 2006, and 2009, the Com­munity Shield in 2007, 2008, and 2010, the Cham­pi­ons Lea­gue in 2008, and the Club Wor­ld Cup in 2008. Ath­let­ic and tall and blessed wi­th amaz­ingly quick re­flexes, he also made a name for him­self on the in­ter­na­tion­al soc­cer scene, amass­ing a total of 130 fir­st class ap­pear­ances for Holland.
