Man­chester City kept on press­ing and in­creased their lead wi­th eight min­utes re­maining thro­ugh a con­ver­ted pen­alty from Fran­cis Lee, for­merly wi­th Bol­ton Wan­derers, af­ter Bell had be­en un­ne­ces­sar­ily fouled in­side the area by Fran­cis Burns.
