Gerard Pique opened the scoring for the Barclays Premier League club a minute past the half-hour mark with a headed goal from a Cristiano Ronaldo free-kick before Carlos Tevez hammered home a second six minutes later. Manchester United´s pressure continued in the second period and Wayne Rooney made it 2-0 to the hosts with an excellent right-footed finish in the 76th minute and with the game approaching the closing stages Ronaldo scored the final goal of the evening as the sharpshooter blasted the ball from inside the penalty area past Dynamo Kiev and Ukraine shot stopper Oleksandr Shovkovskiy and into the net two minutes before full-time.
