Manchester United 0 Burnley 2, Old Trafford, English Premier League Fixture, January 22, 2020. Manchester United fell 2-0 at home to Burnley whose goals were scored by Chris Wood and Jay Rodriguez in the 39th and 56th minutes of the game respectively.

Manchester United´s roller coaster form continued as The Reds suffered their first ever Premier League defeat by Burnley at Old Trafford. The Clarets went in front six minutes ahead of the break when New Zealand international Chris Wood met a knock-down from ex-Manchester City defender Ben Mee and smashed home from the edge of the six-yard area. The Turf Moor outfit continued to threat following the resumption and the visitors doubled their advantage eleven minutes into the second period through local born frontman Jay Rodriguez who, after playing a clever one-two with Wood, hammered the ball past Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea and into the top left-hand corner of the net. Although it was a poor showing from United, De Gea put in a fine performance between the posts and the twenty-nine-year-old shot stopper could hardly be blamed for any of the goals scored against him.
