Manchester United 1 Swansea City 2, Old Trafford, English Premier League, August 16, 2014. Newly hired Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal was bitterly disappointed by the 2-1 loss to Swansea City at Old Trafford. The defeat against City was United´s first home loss on the opening day of the season since 1972 when they were beaten 2-1 by Ipswich Town.

A Wayne Rooney goal was not enough for Manchester United as they suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat against unfancied Swansea City at home. Louis van Gaal: “Of course, it is very disappointing. For the players, for the fans, for me, and for my staff. But, that you know.
