But des­pite their dom­in­ance, The Reds didn´t score an­oth­er goal un­til the 86th min­ute when Best be­at Stan­den to make it 2-0 to the ho­me si­de. Scot­tish in­ter­na­tion­al De­nis Law then made up for a missed pen­alty earli­er in the mat­ch as the op­por­tun­ist­ic marks­man ma­naged to find the tar­get wi­th one min­ute re­maining of nor­mal time to give Man­chester Uni­ted a 3-0 vic­tory over the East Lon­doners.
