Manchester Utd 2 Leeds 1
Manchester United 2 Leeds United 1, Old Trafford, English Premier League, March 5, 2003. After losing the 2003 Football League Cup Final 2-0 to Liverpool, Manchester United collected a confidence-boosting 2-1 Premiership victory against Leeds United thanks to an own goal from Lucas Radebe in the first half and a late second half goal by Mikael Silvestre.
Manchester United were gifted the lead when Lucas Radebe put the ball in the back of his own net with twenty minutes gone of the game. The Elland Road club worked hard for an equaliser after the half-time break and the visitors eventually levelled the score through Australian international Mark Viduka who nodded home a free-kick from Ian Harte four minutes past the hour mark. But Manchester United had the last word as Mikael Silvestre converted a David Beckham free-kick eleven minutes from time.
