Manchester United supremo David Moyes singled out Wayne Rooney for some well deserved attention after a confidence-boosting away victory against relegation candidates West Ham United at Upton Park. Rooney scored his first goal of the match in the eighth minute of play and notched up a second twelve minutes before the half-time signal.
Wayne Rooney scored both of the goals for Manchester United as they beat The Hammers by a comfortable 2-0 score and manager David Moyes was particularly impressed with his opening goal from some fifty yards out following only eight minutes of action. David Moyes: “I wanted it to go straight in and I did not know if it was going to bounce under the bar or over the bar. Thankfully though it did go in. It was a brilliant goal; superb technique, and in Wayne Rooney we have a player who is capable of doing all those sorts of things on a football pitch.” West Ham United Team: Adrian, James Tomkins, James Collins, George McCartney, Guy Demel, Matt Taylor, Stewart Downing, Mark Noble, Kevin Nolan, Mo Diame, Andy Carroll.
