In the 55th min­ute of the en­counter, Louis Saha net­ted United´s sec­ond goal of the af­ter­noon be­fore Por­tuguese sharp­shoot­er Cris­ti­ano Ron­aldo made it 3-0 just four min­utes la­ter. Then, in the 61st min­ute of the Lea­gue Cup Fi­nal, Roo­ney put the cherry on the Man­chester Uni­ted cake when the pre­vi­ous Good­ison Park marks­man com­pleted his brace wi­th a clo­se ran­ge ef­fort to make the fi­nal score read 4-0 in fa­vour of The Reds.
