Morocco 2 Norway 2
Morocco 2 Norway 2, Stade De La Mosson, FIFA World Cup Finals Group Stage, June 10, 1998. Manchester United´s Henning Berg enjoyed an excellent match as Norway managed a point against Morocco in Montpellier. Egil Olsen´s troops came back twice during the group stage encounter with The Atlas Lions to snatch a 2-2 draw from the jaws of defeat.
Deportivo de La Coruna midfielder Mustapha Hadji gave Morocco the lead in the 38 minute of the contest with a superb shot which flew past Norwegian goalkeeper Frode Grodas and into the far bottom corner of the net, only for Norway to equalise thanks to an own goal from FC Porto´s Youssef Chippo seven minutes later in the game. Then, fifteen minutes into the second half of the tie, Morocco regained their lead when Abdeljalil Hadda stormed into the area and hammered an unstoppable effort past a helpless Grodas and into the goal, but Norway hit back instantly as a well taken free kick from Liverpool´s Stig Inge Bjornebye eventually found its way to Celta Vigo central defender Dan Eggen who headed home from a few yards out to make the final score 2-2 between the two countries. As for Henning Berg, the seasoned campaigner played a key part in the Norway defence throughout the full 90 minutes in Montpellier.
