Man­chester Uni­ted col­lec­ted their fourth suc­cess­ive Pre­mier Lea­gue win un­der care­taker man­ager Ole Gun­nar Sol­skjaer as they be­at New­castle Uni­ted 2-0 thanks to a goal each from Ro­melu Lu­kaku and Mar­cus Rash­ford in the 64th and 80th min­utes respectively. 

Bo­th te­ams had their mo­ments in the fir­st ha­lf, but no goals were sco­red be­fore the break. Man­chester Uni­ted began the sec­ond ha­lf the bet­ter and the vis­it­ors fi­nally went ahead four min­utes pa­st the hour ma­rk when sub­sti­tute Ro­melu Lu­kaku fou­nd the tar­get af­ter ho­me goal­keeper Mar­tin Dub­ravka had failed to hold a free-kick from Mar­cus Rash­ford. And wi­th ten min­utes re­maining of nor­mal time, Rash­ford re­gistered the sec­ond goal of the even­ing as the young front­man fin­ished off a counter-at­tack by round­ing Dub­ravka and then put­ting the ball in­to the empty net.
