Queens Park 1 Man United 3
Queens Park Rangers 1 Manchester United 3, Loftus Road, English Premier League, January 18, 1993. Paul Ince handed Manchester United the lead in the 26th minute before Ryan Giggs doubled the advantage for the visitors on the half-hour mark. England U21 international Bradley Allen managed to reduce the deficit for The Hoops three minutes ahead of the interval, only for Andrei Kanchelskis to score a third goal for United in the 48th minute.
Although Manchester United had been held to a disappointing goalless draw by Queens Park Rangers at Old Trafford in the reverse encounter at Old Trafford, Alex Fergsuons´s Premiership title challenging side were favourites to beat The Rs at Shepherd´s Bush. On a bitterly cold Monday evening in London, Gerry Francis´s Rangers had a few scoring opportunities early on in the first period, but they came to nothing. Premier League leaders Manchester United, who were undefeated in their previous eight Premiership fixtures, gradually took control over the possession of the ball and the visiting team ultimately broke the defensive deadlock through Three Lions midfielder Paul Ince who sent a spectacular overhead-kick into the net net following 26 minutes of action. The Old Trafford men continued their attacking policy and Ryan Giggs added a second goal for The Reds just four minutes later when the 19-year-old winger ran onto a long ball and lobbed it over Queens Park Rangers and Wales U21 shot stopper Tony Roberts and into the net. The West London club were given some hope in the 42nd minute when Bradley Allen found the target by chipping the ball over Peter Schmeichel after the Danish netminder had blocked his first attempt, but the hosts were soon brought down to earth as Andrei Kanchelskis restored Manchester United´s advantage with a fine finish into the far bottom corner of the goal three minutes after the restart.
