Manchester United managed to qualify for the Champions League Quarter-Finals after beating Rapid Vienna by two goals to nil before a 45,000 crowd at Ernst Happel Stadium. The English Premier League team nudged themselves in front in the 24th minute of the tie when Ryan Giggs latched on to a neat pass from Eric Cantona before brilliantly putting the ball past the oncoming Michael Konsel and into the back of the goal. And with eighteen minutes left to go, Manchester United doubled their advantage as an excellent ball by David Beckham found Cantona who struck home from close range.
