Roy Hodg­son was full of praise for his play­ers af­ter the mid­week en­counter ag­ainst Italy in the Swiss city of Bern. The Three Li­ons came from be­hind to be­at Cesare Prandelli´s si­de 2-1 cour­tesy of goals by Phil Ja­gielka and sec­ond ha­lf sub­sti­tute Jer­main Defoe.

The Eng­land boss was also im­pressed wi­th Man­chester Uni­ted mid­field play­maker Tom Clev­er­ley who made his in­ter­na­tion­al seni­or de­but in the in­ter­na­tion­al friendly fix­ture ag­ainst the Itali­ans in Switzer­land. Roy Hodg­son: “We know that Tom Clev­er­ley is a good play­er and an im­port­ant play­er for Man­chester Uni­ted, who was un­lucky to get in­jured early last sea­son.
