Premier League Champions Manchester United, who were without key players Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney, created very little during the first period and decent scoring opportunities were few and far between. In the 34th minute of the summer tour fixture, however, Netherlands U21 international Alexander Buttner sustained a minor right hamstring injury and had to be replaced with fellow full back Rafael da Silva. Then, a mere four minutes into the second half the tie, Bangkok Glass forward Teeratep Winothai powered an accurate effort from inside the eighteen area past Manchester United stopper Ben Amos and into the net to provide The Thai All Stars side a fully deserved 1-0 lead in front of a 50,000 strong home crowd at Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok. Fifteen minutes later in the friendly encounter, Manchester United manager David Moyes eventually decided to make a triple substitution as Oliveira Anderson, Tom Cleverley, and Ryan Giggs came off for Phil Jones, Jessie Lingard, and Wilfried Zaha respectively, handing the latter his first team debut for the Old Trafford club. Zaha went on to enjoy an excellent match for Manchester United, and it was the £10 million transfer signing from Crystal Palace who actually came the nearest to scoring, but his dangerous curling shot went off the far post and out of harm´s way with eight minutes left on the watch of referee Chaiya Mahaprab. Manchester United Team: Ben Amos, Fabio da Silva, Alex Buttner, Rio Ferdinand, Jonny Evans, Ryan Giggs, Tom Cleverley, Michael Carrick, Oliveira Anderson, Adnan Januzaj, Danny Welbeck.
