Manchester U 3 Liverpool 2
Manchester United 3 Liverpool 2, Old Trafford, English Premier League, September 19, 2010. Sir Alex Ferguson experienced mixed emotions after the 3-2 Sunday success against Liverpool at Old Trafford. Although Manchester United won the game by 3-2 courtesy of a treble from Dimitar Berbatov they still squandered many opportunities in front of goal.
Dimitar Berbatov recorded two goals for Manchester United before The Anfielders hit back twice through Steven Gerrard, only for Mitko to grab a late winner for the home side. But according to Sir Alex Ferguson, who had mixed feelings about the result, United should have won by a cricket score. Sir Alex Ferguson: “At 2-0 it could have been a cricket score. Two-all was an absolute farce. It was a game that we absolutely dominated and I was saying to myself. So when it looked like ending 2-2, it would have been a travesty of a scoreline.” Manchester United Team: Edwin van der Sar, Patrice Evra, John O’Shea, Jonathan Evans, Nemanja Vidic, Paul Scholes, Darren Fletcher, Dimitar Berbatov, Luis Nani, Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs.
