Sir Alex Ferguson´s Manchester United side trashed Sunderland 4-0 at The Stadium of Light to gain their fifth successive Premier League victory. Wayne Rooney opened the scoring account for the visitors after twenty minutes when he received a magnificent through pass from defender Wes Brown and coolly struck the ball beyond the arms of Sunderland shot stopper Craig Gordon and into the bottom right-hand corner of the net from eighteen yards out.
