Italy 1 England 1
Italy 1 England 1, Juventus Stadium, International Friendly Match, March 31, 2015. Italy and England drew 1-1 before an attendance of 31,000 in Turin. Wayne Rooney had another good match for The Three Lions, despite failing to find the back of the net.
Roy Hodgson´s England came into the fixture on the back of a morale boosting 4-0 European Championship Qualifying win over the minnows of Lithuania at Wembley, while Antonio Conte´s men had managed a 2-2 draw with Bulgaria at the Vasil Levski National Stadium in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia in their last qualifier. In the previous meeting between Italy and England, The Blues had defeated The Three Lions 2-1 in a group stage contest at Arena da Amazonia in Manaus on the 14th of June 2014 in the World Cup in Brazil. This time around, the two countries shared the spoils in an even 1-1 friendly draw at Juventus Stadium, with Andros Townsend cancelling out Graziano Pelle´s opening goal. Manchester United and England skipper Wayne Rooney almost provided the visitors with an opener in the 20th minute, but his deflected effort hit the bar and instead it was the home side that broke the defensive deadlock when Pelle headed a cross by Giorgio Chiellini past Manchester City custodian Joe Hart and into the goal nine minutes later. England eventually managed to level the scores courtesy of Andros Townsend, who hammered an unstoppable shot past Gianluigi Buffon in the Italian goal and into the net from 20 yards out with eleven minutes left of normal playing time, and with no more goals materialising the encounter ended in a 1-1 draw.
