Man­chester Uni­ted Facts­book Fea­ture: Tre­vor An­der­son, born Bel­fast, North­ern Ire­land, Mar­ch 3, 1951. Tre­vor An­der­son star­ted out at Portadown be­fore he sig­ned for Man­chester Uni­ted for a fee of £20,000 in Oct­ober 1972. The for­ward then made his de­but for Uni­ted when he took the field as a sub­sti­tute for Bri­an Kidd in a 2-0 Fir­st Di­vi­sion win over South­ampton at The Dell on the 31st of Mar­ch 1973.

The high­light of Tre­vor Anderson´s rather short ca­reer at Man­chester Uni­ted ar­rived when he sco­red the win­ner in a 1-0 Fir­st Di­vi­sion tri­umph ag­ainst Don Revie´s Leeds Uni­ted at El­land Road on the 18th of April 1973. Af­ter play­ing in on­ly 19 Lea­gue mat­ches for Uni­ted, An­der­son mo­ved on to Third Di­vi­sion te­am Swin­don To­wn for whom the rock­et-heeled and tricky-footed stri­ker notched up 35 Lea­gue goals in 131 ap­pear­ances for The Robins be­tween 1974 and 1977. In Dec­ember 1977, he de­cided to sign wi­th fel­low Third Di­vi­sion si­de Pe­ter­bor­ough Uni­ted where he con­trib­uted six hits in 49 Lea­gue ga­mes for The Posh be­fore he joi­ned Ir­ish Lea­gue club Lin­field at the end of the re­leg­a­tion sea­son of 1978-79. A North­ern Ire­land in­ter­na­tion­al, he hit two goals on his full de­but for The Green and White Army in a 3-0 Wor­ld Cup Quali­fier win ag­ainst Cyprus at Craven Cot­tage on the 8th May of 1973, and went on to gain 22 seni­or caps for his coun­try.
