Man­chester Uni­ted gain­ed their fifth Pre­miership win on the trot as they be­at West Brom­wich 2-1. Louis Saha opened the scor­ing for Uni­ted in the fir­st ha­lf and hit a sec­ond af­ter the break be­fore Nat­han El­ling­ton sco­red a late con­sol­a­tion for the ho­me team. 

Sec­ond po­si­tioned Man­chester Uni­ted had beaten Ful­ham, Ports­mouth, Wi­gan Ath­let­ic, and New­castle Uni­ted in their last four Pre­miership ga­mes, where­as lowly pla­ced West Brom­wich had drawn wi­th Birm­ing­ham City, and lost to Ful­ham, Middles­brough, and Chel­sea. Louis Saha head­ed Man­chester Uni­ted in front af­ter six­teen min­utes and the front­man fou­nd the net ag­ain four min­utes pa­st the hour ma­rk when he sco­red wi­th a clipped fin­ish over To­masz Kusz­czak in the West Brom­wich goal. Al­bion re­duced the de­fi­cit as for­mer Wi­gan Ath­let­ic for­ward Nat­han El­ling­ton con­ver­ted a flag-kick in the 78th min­ute, but Man­chester Uni­ted held on to bag all three points.
