West Ham 3 Manchester U 2
West Ham United 3 Manchester United 2, Boleyn Ground, English Premier League, May 10, 2016. Louis van Gaal´s boys suffered a 3-2 defeat against West Ham United in their penultimate fixture of the 2015-16 season. Diafra Sakho, Michail Antonio, and Winston Reid all found the net for The Hammers, while Anthony Martial netted a brace for the visitors.
Manchester United had to make do without the services of defender Matteo Darmian and midfielder Marouane Fellaini who was injured and suspended respectively. The Mancunians, who came fresh from a hard fought 1-0 victory against Norwich City at Carrow Road three days earlier, found themselves one goal down after ten minutes as Senegal international Diafra Sakho scored with a well placed shot which went past away goalkeeper David de Gea and into the bottom left corner of the net. Following the half-time refreshments, Manchester United restored parity thanks to a close range goal from Anthony Martial in the 51st minute of the encounter, and the Frenchman netted again when he found the target from a difficult angle twenty-one minutes minutes later. But with fourteen minutes remaining of normal time, Michail Antonio made it 2-2 with a header before Winston Reid nodded home the winner for West Ham in the 81st minute to seal a 3-2 win for The Irons over The Reds in what was the last football match to be played at Boleyn Ground.
